Martin Knight
BA (Hons) MA (Dist) CMLISenior Landscape Architect
Since joining the practice Martin has been involved in a number of projects and competitions across the UK and Singapore. He particularly enjoys designing with the intention of connecting people with nature and in exploring and promoting the integration of natural and sustainable systems with the built environment. These principles are underpinned by his strong belief in celebrating cultural identity, social cohesion and the multitude of benefits that well-designed landscapes and public spaces can bring to the world.
Martin’s time at Grant Associates since 2015 has seen him develop a diverse body of work at a variety of scales including gardens, campuses, residential developments, small- and large-scale master planning projects and urban design. Most recently he has been landscape lead on Mountbatten House, affectionately known as the Hanging Gardens of Basingstoke; a rejuvenation of the Grade II Registered Park and Gardens and the first commercial roof garden in the UK at the time of construction in the 1970’s. Currently Martin is landscape lead on the University of Sussex West Slope Residences project at the University’s Falmer Campus near Brighton.
